The Schneider Electric / Telemecanique XUK5ARCNL2​ is a compact rectangular photoelectric sensor​ from the XUK (OsiSense XU) series, designed for object detection in packaging, material handling, and general machine guarding. Based on the standard XUK5 coding:
  • XUK5​ → Rectangular housing (50×50×18 mm approx.), compact

⚠️ Important:
  1. Requires Reflector: Retro-reflective sensors NEED a reflector (Schneider ref: XUZC50 / XUZC51 — select size per range).
  2. Relay vs Solid-State: “RC” in XUK5ARCNL2 = Relay output (dry contacts)​ — can switch AC & DC loads directly (within rating). If you need PNP/NPN solid-state → choose XUK5ARP… (PNP) or XUK5ARN… (NPN).
  3. Polarized: “A” = polarized retro-reflective — use for detecting glossy/reflective objects (cans, foil, metal) to avoid false pass-through. Non-polarized (B suffix in some old XU) would false-trigger on shiny surfaces.
  4. Wiring: Relay version has 4 wires + shield typically: Common (C), NO, NC, Supply (+/-). Check terminal diagram — dry contacts are isolated from supply.
