  1. TIA Portal Version: S7-1500 CPUs require TIA Portal V13 SP1 or later (V14/V15/V16/V17/V18 recommended per CPU fw version). V12 or older STEP 7 Classic (for S7-300/400) CANNOT program S7-1500!
  2. SD Card: S7-1500 needs a SIMATIC Memory Card (6ES7954-8LB01-0AA0 = 24 MB min; 6ES7954-8LF01-0AA0 = 256 MB typical; 6ES7954-8LL03-0AA0 = 32 GB for data logs)​ — serves as load memory & firmware update carrier. NOT included with CPU — order separately!
