Description

The Mitsubishi QY41P​ is a 32-point DC digital output module​ for the Mitsubishi MELSEC-Q Series PLC. It uses NPN transistor (Sink type)​ outputs to switch 12/24 V DC loads​ at 0.1 A per point (2.0 A per common group)​ — ideal for driving indicator lamps, small DC solenoid valves, and interposing relay coils.

⚠️ Critical Notes:
  1. Sink (NPN) Wiring: QY41P = NPN Sink — Load connected between +24V and output Y□; COM terminals connect to 0V (GND). When ON, Y□ goes to ~0V, current flows through load. If your system uses PNP (load between Y□ and 0V, module sources +24V) → order QY81P (PNP/Source).
  2. COM Terminals: QY41P has 2 COM terminals — COM0 (Y0–Y17 in octal = Y00–Y17 decimal grouping), COM1 (Y20–Y37). Both MUST be tied to 0V for NPN operation. Do NOT apply +24V to COM on QY41P (that’s for PNP module QY81P).
  3. Current Limits: 0.1A/point; 2.0A max per COM group (16 pts). For larger loads use interposing relay or relay-output module (QY10 etc.).
  4. Inductive Loads: Always parallel DC solenoid/relay coil with a flyback diode​ (cathode to +24V side) to protect transistors — module has internal surge diode but external diode recommended for larger coils.
  5. GX Works2 Addressing: 32 points = 2 consecutive device words (Y0000–Y001F hex if start Y0000). Avoid overlap with adjacent slots.
