The KEYENCE GL-R16L is a robust Type 4 (SIL 3, PL e) safety light curtain featuring 16 optical axes. Designed for industrial perimeter guarding, it provides reliable hand and body detection with a protection height of 345 mm. Utilizing infrared LED technology with a 15-meter detection range, this unit offers edge-to-edge protection, eliminating dead zones. Its rugged extruded aluminum housing and recessed lenses resist impact, vibration, and harsh environments (IP65/IP67). The GL-R16L includes a built-in controller, eliminating the need for an external safety relay in many applications, and supports advanced functions like muting and floating blanking via simple wiring.
