Description

• The CZ-H32 uses a red LED / red light source​ (visible alignment aid) and operates on the diffuse-reflective (proximity) principle with Background Suppression (BGS) capability​ — actual BGS processing is done in the connected CZ Amplifier Unit.
• CZ-H32 is a Sensor Head ONLY​ — it MUST be connected to a CZ-series Amplifier Unit: e.g., CZ-K1 (basic), CZ-K2 (advanced with digital display), CZ-V1 (for direct PC/PLC link via V series), or CZ-H21 (head-only amp-in-head? No — CZ-H21 is a combined unit; CZ-H32 is head-only). The amplifier provides power, threshold setting, output type (PNP/NPN), and teaching function.
• Typical sensing range (with proper reflector or diffuse object): up to ~300 mm on white matte target @ BGS mode​ — exact effective range depends on amplifier gain & target reflectivity. Variable spot lets you shrink beam for small component detection (φ1 mm min.) or widen to stabilize on textured surfaces.
• Cable length standard = 2 m fixed cable (non-detachable)​ terminating in CZ-series head connector (plugs into amplifier front port labeled “SENSOR”).

1. Head Only — Amplifier Separate!: CZ-H32 cannot operate standalone​ — you MUST pair with CZ-K1 (6ECZK1), CZ-K2 (6ECZK2), or CZ-V1 (6ECZV1)​ amplifier unit (sold separately — mounts on DIN rail, provides 24V DC power, output contacts, teach button).
2. Variable Spot Usage: Rotate the knurled ring on the lens barrel — at minimum spot (fully CW/CCW per marking) = ~ø1 mm; fully opened = ~ø5 mm. Use small spot to detect tiny part in clutter; widen spot to improve stability on low-reflectivity or textured surfaces.
3. Wiring: CZ-H32 has fixed 2 m cable with Keyence proprietary mini-connector that plugs into the “SENSOR” port on the CZ amp front — no user wiring. If cable damaged it must be replaced as assembly (or use CZ extender cables if offered in your region — some CZ systems allow CZ-EXTxx extension).
4. Background Suppression (BGS): BGS is performed by the amplifier — teach background distance → sensor ignores objects beyond setpoint. CZ-H32 head provides the return light; amp does triangulation calculation (BGS type — depending on CZ-K1/K2 firmware some are thru-beam/diffuse/BGS capable — confirm CZ-K1 supports BGS/diffuse head).
5. Mounting: Supplied with M6 (or M8 — check package: typically M6 × 0.75 thread, 12 mm barrel length) locknut + L-shaped mounting bracket + M3 screw — can be side- or front-mounted.
