💡 “CP” = Built-in Positioning — the key differentiator from “-A” models:

• MR-J2S-500A​ = Pulse-input type — requires PLC to generate pulse train for position control
• MR-J2S-500CP​ (this unit) = Built-in positioning function​ — stores multiple target positions, speeds, and acceleration/deceleration times in internal tables; DI signals select and trigger positioning operations. No pulse generator needed from the host PLC. Plus RS-422 networking for up to 32 CP drives .

This makes the MR-J2S-500CP ideal for applications where you want to offload positioning logic from the PLC — the PLC simply sends a “go to point N” command via DI bits, and the drive executes the full motion profile autonomously.

⚠️ Critical compatibility & selection notes:

1. Motor pairing is STRICT​ — Per Mitsubishi’s official combination table , MR-J2S-500CP-S084 pairs EXCLUSIVELY with:
   • HC-SFS52​ (5000W, 3000 rpm, no brake)
   • HC-SFS53​ (5000W, low-speed high-torque variant)
   • HC-LFS52 / HC-LFS53​ (5000W, flat/compact type)
   • HA-LFS502​ (5000W, 2000 rpm class)
   Pairing with any other motor (HC-SFS202, HC-RFS, HC-KFS, etc.) will cause alarm. If your existing motor is HC-SFS52/53 → this drive is 100% compatible.
2. 200V class — 3-phase 200–230VAC input​ — Requires a 3-phase 200–230VAC supply (typical in industrial Japan, Asia, and parts of Europe). For 400V-class 3-phase regions (North America, etc.), a step-down transformer is required. Single-phase 230V is NOT supported for MR-J2S-500CP (only ≤750W J2S-CP models support 1-phase 230V) .
3. Built-in positioning vs pulse input​ — Because this is a -CP​ model, you CAN run it in two ways:
   • Standalone positioning: Load point tables via MR Configurator software, trigger via DI bits (no PLC pulse needed)
   • Traditional pulse mode: Also accepts differential pulse train input (up to 1Mpps) if you want PLC-based control

6.
